This course fulfills the 6-hour mandatory course required by the State of Texas Department of Public Safety – Private Security Board, which includes both classroom and firearms range re-qualification. This certification is required to renew as an Armed Security Officer in the state of Texas.
Required Materials:Â Â
- Handgun with holster
- .38 caliber revolver (or larger caliber) or a semiautomatic 9mm (or larger caliber). If you qualify with a revolver, you will receive a revolver endorsement (R) on your license and you will only be able to carry a revolver only while on duty. If you qualify with a semiautomatic, you will receive the semiautomatic (SA) endorsement and will be able to carry either a semiautomatic handgun or a revolver while on duty.
